The shopping industry has really embraced philanthropy. We now see more and more companies with a charitable element at point of purchase. TOMS really started the revolution where for every pair of shoes purchased, a pair goes to a person in need, but now we see so many companies getting into the spirit.
Sergengetee is one of my favorites. Not only was is started by two Semester at Sea alums but the company takes unique fabric patterns from around the world and has created a clothing line where 10% of profits go back to a diverse range of grassroots causes from these countries. Recently, they have expanded into more than the initial pocket tank tops with long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, hats, bags, and accessories.

Celebs are really getting into DIFF Eyewear including Bachelor alums Jojo Fletcher Carly Waddell, and even Holly Madison and Mario Lopez! Whether you’re into the glasses because of the endorsements or just because they look really cool, you can feel good about the purchase because for every pair sold a pair of reading glasses is donated through Eyes on Africa. (The Bella frames are my favorite!)
In a similar effort, Boutique Mexico is giving talented Mexican artisans a platform to sell their bags and jewelry and helps these women rise out of poverty. These pieces are so perfect for any beach adventure from clutches to totes as well as clothing. (In love with the Coco and Camila Otomi pouches).
Do some good this holiday season, and plan to buy with care in mind.
